I feel the need to
address any disappointment
you may be feeling
when reading
Domestic Violet and The FLOWER Girls !
( We share about everything DOMESTIC )
There may have been an
expectation
of domesticity on a slightly different scale -
the conversion tables for
measurement
comes to mind -
like Helpful hints from Heloise
and items of that nature !
( We will share some of these from time to time )
You may have hoped for
the inside scoop
into what we eat and
when we sleep
and the contents of
our day-timers
and what our kids and pets are up to
but
instead we give you
the contents of
our hearts and minds !
We bring our spirit and
humanity -
abandoning false pride
as we write -
( the kind that requires no
assistance from others
and welcomes
no new information ) ~
Personally I would rather
( instead of trading cleaning secrets and such )
tell you
how many times I've moved
which is right up there with
how many times I have
loved !
The FLOWER Girls and I
have lived no
comfortable
sheltered lives
and we are but a few small specks -
a few small voices
floating within
CYBERSPACE
where you find
us -
per serendipity or perhaps
deliberately -
whatever the case
there is a story of
Two Wolves
I will paraphrase -
A native Cherokee elder
passed on these words of
wisdom
to a young one -
" Inside each one of us
Two Wolves exist -
good and evil -
each one vying for dominant position !
The evil one is filled with
hatred, jealousy, greed, resentment
regret, remorse, and revenge live there
as well as selfishness, avarice, false pride -
ego and anger abound !
The good Wolf is filled with all desirable things -
benevolence, tolerance, forgiveness
compassion, joy, serenity
humility and peace are found ! "
The young one asked
" which one wins Grandfather ? "
The elder replied -
" the one you feed " ~
All the Guru's of our day would say -
" You cannot change what you
will not acknowledge "
so Domestic Violet and The FLOWER Girls
are here to
shine light upon all things domestic
and
the problem of
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
in a more personal way -
having found some solutions
requiring varying degrees of
CHANGE !
We realize how
resistant human beings are
to this concept
but we know
it is indeed
possible
to experience intense resentment -
for example -
and have it transform
into compassion -
and it is possible for the critical nature
to become
more tolerant of
the 7 Billion "others" -
who are also worth
about eighteen dollars and seventy-six cents
$ 18.76
in chemicals necessary to build one of US -
and it is possible to view them with pity
and patience -
understanding and well-wishing
instead ~
If there is to be
Peace
on any level -
and doesn't everyone want
Peace and not
WAR
in their own homes
neighborhoods and
cities -
their own Nation -
their own land ???
Ideally we all do
I suppose -
yet war-mongers exist
in sheep's clothing
spreading fear and
condemnation
but the one in the
mirror
is where the piece of
Peace
is found
and not by
wishful thinking
but by careful examination of
our own character -
identifying our own flaws
and humanly human
stuff
that placed us in a victimized position -
rejected
abandoned
dis-respected and
beat up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is not for
sissies -
it will take everything you've got -
and most folks run away quickly
from taking real responsibility
for their lot !
The insanity has to
stop -
of repeating the same
non-working solutions
on a problem that is
an inside job !
The FLOWER Girls and Domestic Violet
illustrate
illuminate
elucidate
our personal " takes "
and take time to
demonstrate
our past and present
" states " of
body
mind and
soul
using candor
love and
humor
to describe the road we've
trudged
and survived to tell about !
When we point to human
frailties
citing " WE, US, They and Them
He, She, It and Someone or
YOU - y'all "
then you can bet we've " been there " -
" done that " for sure
and have identified our PART -
so we just might know what we're
talking about
and we no longer stand
in front of
fast-moving fists
so we take different kinds of risks
now
but anonymously so
for the sake
of those who
break
with the slightest touch
of honesty
and those who were truly
innocently involved -
in an effort to end
denial -
to help end the
apathy around
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
which is a symptom of
the Global picture
and to feed the Wolf
of Peace
please and thank you all ! . . .
